Powder Classifier & Air Classifier
EPIC Powder classifiers and air classifiers make everything fine! Our classifiers were developed for a wide range of applications. They meet various fineness requirements. As a result, they cover a wide fineness range: from d97 = 2 µm to d97 = 200 µm. See the individual machine pages for details of the fineness ranges. Not sure which is the right classifier for your application? Contact us, our experts will be happy to advise you free of charge and with no obligation to purchase.
The air flows through the classifying wheel in a centripetal direction. The classifying wheel extracts fines from the feed material. It conveys them to the fines discharge. The coarse material rejected by the classifying wheel gravitates downwards. The air routing in the schematic is simplified. The classifier rinses the coarse material with air to remove fines before it exits. This results in an extremely clean coarse fraction.
The product is fed via a rotary valve or in an air-flow classifier. The product is entrained in the classifying air. Adjust the classifier wheel speed with a frequency converter to control product fineness. The horizontal arrangement of the classifying wheel means that even “difficult” products can be processed with no problem.
Horizontal Air Classifier
- Features: High speed, accurate vertex cutting; clean production process; program control system, easy to adjust and operate.
- Particle size: Superfine powders in the fineness range d97 = 5 to 10 µm; with the NG model, finenesses of d97 = 2 µm (d50 = 0.3 µm) are possible
- Application: Widely used in mineral industry (especially suitable for classification of non mineral products such as calcium carbonate, kaolin, quartz, talc, mica), metallurgy, abrasives, ceramics, refractory, medicine, pesticide, food, health care products, new materials, etc..
The ITC air classifier’s drive is located under the classifying zone. The feed product is centrally fed from above for optimal distribution. This setup ensures effective dispersion of the product. The feed product is charged by the feed unit to the centrifugal plate. It is distributed uniformly and catapulted towards the baffle ring. The baffle ring deflects the feed material, sending it down to the classifying zone.
Vertical Air Classifier
- Features: Low speed, stand wear and tear, low system power configuration; clean production process; PLC control system, easy operation.
- Particle size: Air classifier for high throughputs in the fine to medium-fine separation range of d97 = 10 to 150 µm
- Application: The ITC air classifier is primarily used for processing feldspar, quartz, nepheline, wollastonite, etc.
The ultrafine classifier TDC is excellent at classifying soft to medium-hard minerals. It has high throughputs. It is particularly useful in producing fillers. The patented wheel design allows high throughput and loading at fineness values up to d97 = 3.0 μm. Due to the low pressure drop of the TDC, this machine is characterised by its high energy efficiency. Savings of up to 25 % are possible.
The wheel is supported in bearings on both sides. It allows speeds up to 120 m/s. Another unique feature is the optimised product routing direct to the classifying wheel. This prevents any backmixing with the already classified coarse material. Adjusting the classifying wheel gap is no longer necessary. This simplifies maintenance significantly.
Ultra-fine Air Classifier
The TDC classifier is ideal for ultrafine soft to medium hard material classification.
