1. Project Background
Greece is rich in high-quality calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) mineral resources, renowned worldwide for their high whiteness, high purity, and stable chemical and physical properties. The client for this project is a leading local mineral processing company in Greece, aiming to deeply process its raw ore into ultrafine powder for supply to Europe’s high-end paper, plastic modification, and architectural coatings industries.
Core requirements:
- Product fineness: D50 = 6 μm
- Production capacity: Stable output of 2–3 t/h
- Equipment selection: Extremely high energy efficiency and long-term stable operation
2. Solution: Epic Powder MJW Series Air Classifier Mill for Calcium Carbonate

Considering the physical characteristics of Greek calcium carbonate—low Mohs hardness but very stringent requirements for whiteness and particle size distribution—Epic Powder selected the MJW Series Air Classifier Mill (ACM) system.
Technical highlights:
- Integrated grinding and classification: The MJW Series features a built-in high-efficiency turbine classifier that performs real-time classification during grinding. Oversized particles are automatically returned to the grinding zone, effectively preventing over-grinding.
- Precise particle size control: By optimizing the matching between classifier wheel speed and airflow, the system easily achieves stable production at D50 = 6 μm, with an extremely narrow particle size distribution (PSD).
- Wear resistance and purity protection: To meet the high whiteness requirements of Greek calcium carbonate, all internal contact surfaces are treated with special wear-resistant solutions, ensuring zero metal contamination during processing and preserving the product’s natural whiteness.
3. Production Process Parameters
